OUR discipleship pathway
Who are you becoming?
All of us are being discipled and formed by someone or something, the question is, who are we being formed into? Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). At Trinity, we believe that Jesus is worth denying ourselves to follow, and at its most basic level, discipleship is being with Jesus to become like Jesus so we can live like Jesus.
Some of us are just beginning to explore who Jesus is, and some of us have been following him for decades. Wherever you are at on this journey, we hope we can be a part of you taking a next step.
It begins when you connect.

Commit to Jesus’ church.
Church membership is almost nothing like being a member of Costco or a local gym! As followers of Jesus, we are given a new identity by God and brought into His family as brothers and sisters. In other words, we belong to Him and His people. But how do we express this inward reality? At Trinity, we believe Christians express our new identity in each local church through a commitment to God, his people, and his mission.
Our commitment is expressed through things like uniting our hearts in worship, being known and knowing others, serving Trinity and our neighbors, practicing the spiritual disciplines together, giving generously, and prophetically bearing witness against the false beliefs and false gods of our culture. Church membership is a vital part of following Jesus because it is where ongoing discipleship takes root in our everyday lives.

Join a Community Group.
Community Groups are where we follow Jesus together. Jesus has designed the church to share in common life together, which is how we express the unity we have found in him. One vital expression of that is in our larger, Sunday gathering. The other primary place where we share common life together is in smaller gatherings that meet weekly in homes around West Seattle and beyond. People from all walks of life come together both in joyful times and through struggles to share a meal, spend time in the Bible, pray for one another, and challenge and support one another.
Practice Liturgies for Life.
Liturgies for Life is our term for building a holistic life of devotion, expressed in a plan for spending time with Jesus to become more like him. Click here for a worksheet to help you get started.
Join a Grow Group.
Grow Groups are where deeper intentionality occurs in seasonal learning communities. Once we’ve made membership commitments with Trinity, Community Groups are the primary place where we follow Jesus together. However, we may need special times of focus where we grow in new ways. Grow Groups will vary in as many ways as that growth will. Some will cover subjects like: theology; spiritual formation; sexuality, singleness and marriage; racial unity; and stewardship. Stay tuned as different groups and opportunities are announced, or connect with us using the button below to let us know what kind of group you’d like to participate in.
