Trinity Kids
We exist to equip parents with the training and resources to teach their kids how to love the LORD.
Kids Ministry is available for babies and kids up to 5th grade. We can’t wait to welcome you as our guest! Before your first visit, click here to fill out the registration form ahead of time so that your kids can head straight to their classroom. You can also fill this out when you arrive.
The family entrance and drop-off area are located on the south (Ida Street) side of the building.
Policies and Procedures
Providing a place for our kids to learn about Jesus that is safe and protected is critical to Trinity Kids Ministry. Please take a moment to review our policies and procedures for safety during Kids Ministry Programs.
Our vision
Live out a Deuteronomy 6 Family Rhythm.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Equip parents with the training and resources to teach their kids to Love the LORD.
We do this in several ways, primarily through
Encouraging every family to come up with an out-loud Bible reading plan to spend time in God’s word together. This could be every day, twice a week, or whatever works with your schedule.
Providing teaching on Sunday mornings that is in line with the sermons being preached and the topics being discussed in our Community Groups. It is our hope and prayer that families will have many touch points (Sunday, CG, and family time) centered around the same topics and Scripture to help cement what God is teaching you into your daily life.
Sending home questions to encourage you to ask and go over these topics with your kids. They might seem a little over their head, but we firmly believe that kids will begin to reach as they are challenged and begin to surprise themselves and us with their ability to comprehend the word of God.
What to Expect on your First Sunday
Enter the phone number you used to register on our Check-In stations and your child(ren)’s name(s) should pop up ready to be checked into their class. Make sure to pick up a copy of the questions related to this week’s lesson at the check-in stations!
You will receive one nametag for each child and one security nametag for parents/caregivers. These nametags have a unique code on them that helps us match kids to their caregivers for security at check-out, so please hang on to this tag.
Your kid(s) will be welcomed in their age-specific classroom by their teachers where they will play some games and get to know the other people in their class.
All kids ages 3+ will head into our “big room” for teaching time during the service, where they will receive a Bible-focused kid-appropriate message taken from the same passage or topic that is being taught in our main adult service upstairs.
When you pick up your kids, they will be back in the original classrooms that you dropped them off in.
By Tuesday or Wednesday, you should receive an email with a copy of that week’s lessons and the questions as a reminder to be reviewing the lesson with your child(ren) and a jump-start to having Bible-based conversations regularly in the home.
What to Expect AT AN ALL-AGES SERVICE
Around one Sunday per quarter, we invite the kids to join us upstairs for worship. If you come on a Sunday with an All-Ages Service, here are some details for you to be aware of.
Why HAVE AN ALL-AGES SERVICE?
Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Luke 18:15-17
Jesus tells us that whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.
Sometimes for very good reasons we have kids downstairs and adults upstairs, but the kingdom of God is for all ages. The joy, the wonder, the enthusiasm, the energy that kids bring is something that we need to learn from and even imitate as we learn about the kingdom.
Our kids need to experience life with grownups. With us, they need to hear the word of God, they need to see us participating in worship through music, prayer, preaching, and communion. And it helps us to think about how children receive and hear the message of God. It equips us to practice worship as families, as the whole body of Christ and blesses those who are not exposed to the energy and vibrance of kids in their normal rhythm of life.
On the Day of AN All-Ages Service
In order to help parents feel loved and welcomed and supported…
We will offer childcare for kids up to 3 years old and kids with special needs
We will offer resources for active kids such as overflow video/audio in Commons, shakers during singing, and coloring books.
We will keep the service to around 60 minutes, and the preaching/teaching will be kept to around 15 minutes or less.
