Kingdom Work

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:58

As followers of Jesus, we have the privilege of serving one another in tangible ways. Whether it's delivering a meal, watching children, pulling weeds, or helping with household tasks, no act of service is too small when it is done in the name of Christ. Every act of care is Kingdom work.

In the coming weeks, the Soini family will be entering a significant season, and we'd love to invite our church family to come alongside them.

On July 2, Sparrow will undergo full spinal fusion surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital to correct severe scoliosis. She is expected to spend about a week or so in the hospital, followed by a lengthy recovery that will include ongoing physical therapy and care at home.

The Soinis have created a CaringBridge page where they'll share updates on Sparrow's recovery and opportunities to help. If you're able, there are many practical ways to support their family during this season, including:

  • Stocking their pantry and freezer

  • Providing meals while Sparrow and Lauren are at the hospital

  • Being available for occasional urgent needs

  • Hosting playdates for Ralph and Iris throughout the summer

  • House cleaning

  • Yard work

Most of all, please join us in praying for Sparrow, for wisdom and skill for her medical team, for a smooth surgery and recovery, and for strength, peace, and endurance for the entire Soini family.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus as we care for the Soinis in the weeks ahead.
