As Peter neared the end of his life, he wrote this second letter to remind the church of what was true and prepare them to remain faithful in the days ahead. The threat they faced was no longer primarily persecution from outside the church, but false teaching and deception from within.

Peter points them back to the certainty of God’s promises. God has given His people everything they need for life and godliness, and Peter urges believers to build their lives on those promises—living faithfully as they await the return of Jesus and the new heavens and new earth He has promised.

As we walk through 2 Peter together, we’ll consider what it looks like to live with confidence in God’s promises, remain faithful in a world filled with competing voices, and continue becoming the people God has called us to be.
