We're looking for our next Worship Director

ROLE SUMMARY
The Worship Director’s role is to participate in our mission to “Multiply Disciples, Leaders, and Churches” by leading our Bands and Production Teams to magnify the glory of God in the hearts of our church. The Worship Director must be a Spirit-led visionary who is creative in leading people to grow in their love for God.  The Worship Director is a leader who can communicate vision in a way that inspires those around them to join in the pursuit of that vision.  The Worship Director will approach worship from the angle of spiritual formation, and will be skilled in the use of music, technology, sound, lighting, and video to that end. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, strategic and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

  •  Fulfill the character qualifications of Deacon as taught in the Scriptures.
  •  Prior experience in leading worship services, musicians, and production teams.
  •  Proficient at multitasking, time management, prioritizing and organization.
  •  Ability to work with and maintain positive and loyal relationships with others.
  •  Experience as a leader and recruiter of volunteers in all areas of music and production.
  •  Ability to build teams and equip leaders to lead ministries.

SCOPE
Worship (Bands and Production)
  • Build the necessary band and production teams to carry out in-person worship service and livestream on Sunday.
  • Resource our church partnerships in music and production as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate all worship services in consultation with the Lead Pastor.
  • Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals as necessary.
  • Develop annual ministry plans that are in line with the church mission and vision and evaluate regularly how goals have been attained or modify as needed.
  • Provide visionary leadership for the overall worship experience and provide training for leaders within the Worship Ministry.
  • Enlist, recruit, equip, and train all volunteer personnel to accomplish the tasks necessary to have a vibrant, spiritually healthy, and effective Worship Ministry.
  • Oversee the coordination and production of all “Special Events” including Christmas, Easter, Member Meetings, Worship Nights and others as they occur.
  • Advise Lead Pastor and other church leadership concerning the needs and requirements of the Worship Ministry as well as creative consultation for worship services.
  • Oversee the building of a music recording portion of the worship ministry, writing, recording, and releasing songs by various bands within the church for the church and the public
  • Ensure weddings have sufficient, trained personnel (paid position)

SCHEDULE
  • 40+ hours per week
  • Sunday all day, Wednesday staff meetings, Thursday rehearsals
  • All other hours Monday-Saturday: flexible to meet job requirements. 

PAY AND BENEFITS
  • Salary based on national average wages for worship directors, previous experience, and Seattle’s cost of living.
